Peter Mataga, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Mataga is responsible for the company's
technical vision, leading all aspects of Roundbox's technology strategy,
development planning and intellectual property management.
Career
As Portfolio Architect within the Converged Systems Division of Avaya, Inc., Dr. Mataga led the evolution of the company's flagship product line to a distributed, SIP-based infrastructure, encompassing VoIP calling, conferencing and voicemail, instant messaging and presence.
Prior to Avaya, as the Solution Architect and Fellow at dynamicsoft, Dr. Mataga conceived (with Dr. Jonathan Rosenberg) and architected the first commercial SIP-based application server, a forerunner of the IMS equivalent. His extensive experience also includes seven years as a member of the technical staff of AT&T/Lucent Bell Labs Research.
Dr. Mataga has a Ph.D. in applied math and S.M. in engineering from Harvard University, B.E. in engineering science and B.Sc. in math and computer science from the University of Auckland. He has ten patents awarded in various aspects of communications technology, as well as numerous patents pending in the mobile datacast technology area.
